Spells are one of the oldest, most common, and material-rich genres of oral tradition in Georgian Folklore. They often have incomprehensible and irrational content, because it enabled people to connect to unknown magical forces, which helped them fulfill their desires. The objects of the spells are
nameless creatures and the attitude here is impersonal. The magical receiver recognizes not a person, but a magical text that is thrown against it like an arrow.
A spell usually requires a ritual without which it would have no power- in this open call you are invited to create work of art in any desired medium, in order to breathe the spirit into the spell you have chosen.
