Theme: Cosmopolitanism in the Context of the Impoverishment of Humanity

In a rapidly globalized world, the concept of cosmopolitanism embraces the idea of a shared global citizenship, fostering cultural exchange, empathy, and interconnectedness across borders. However, the ideal of a unified humanity is increasingly challenged by rising inequality, environmental degradation, political conflict, and social unrest. These issues result in the impoverishment of not just material resources but also moral, cultural, and social values.

This theme invites artists to explore how cosmopolitanism can coexist with the harsh realities of a world where many are excluded from its benefits. This theme seeks to provoke dialogue on whether cosmopolitanism can serve as a tool for bridging divides or if it further highlights the gaps in our increasingly fragmented world.

The Artist-in-Residence Program "The Art Station" Offers:
- Accommodation
- Desk space and access to equiped studios
- Economy round-trip flight from Georgia to Manama
